Posen has no answers for Fairview as Eagles sweep Vikings

Fairview earned a season sweep over Posen when the two schools played each other Tuesday for the second time in 11 days. The Vikings (9-8) couldn?t overcome a flat second quarter in which they were outscored by the home team, 20-5.

?They?re very solid,? said coach Ron Misiak of Fairview. ?They are very quick. They do all the little things right.? The final score was Fairview 66, Posen 50. The score was still close after one quarter with the Vikes trailing by only five, 19-14, but things didn?t go well in the eight minutes before halftime.

?They got very aggressive. We missed easy, easy layups,? Misiak said of the second quarter. ?I think we had seven or eight turnovers in a five minute run. We went really flat.? Two Vikings were in double figures. Sophomore Matt Ponik had a double-double, with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Junior Ron Kroll had 10 points. There are three games left on the regular-season schedule.
