Cold temperatures remain a problem for homeowners

With the temperature, at times dipping below zero degrees for the last few weeks, many people are experiencing cabin fever. Not wanting to go out in the frigid cold, people are staying inside.

?I don?t want to go outside again until spring, it?s too cold,? said Madeline Witchell. ?Is spring ever going to get here.? Many people work outside in these condition, Jim Palomaris is one of those people.

?I work out doors year around. I was happy because it was warm out Tuesday morning when I left for work. We had a heat wave of 18 degrees,? said Palomaris. ?The day before my thermometer read 25 degrees below zero at the same time of the morning. At that temperature, things don?t want to start,? said Palomaris.

The city of Onaway has asked that everyone leave their water dripping. ?Frost is extremely deep this year, five and a half foot deep the last time it was checked a couple of weeks ago,? said Joe Hefele, city manager.

?Please leave your water running about the width of a pencil, if your worried about your septic, run a hose out if you can,? said Hefele.
