Talks center around possible new building at Onaway airport

The idea of a new building at the Leo Goetz Airport in Onaway is just that, an idea, but proposals are being considered to construct something better.

Chairman of the County Airport Grounds Committee, Robert Schell, and other committee members have been discussing the possibility of a new building on the Onaway site.

“We are tossing ideas around, looking at plans, that sort of thing,” Schell said.

“We’re just now in the infact stages of planning it,” said Mike Jermeay, airport manager.

The airport is within the city limits of Onaway and owned by Presque Isle County. The exisiting building is a converted construction trailer donated more than 20 years ago.
