Two billboards invite I-75 traffic to Presque Isle County

Northern Michigan travelers finding their way north on I-75 this Memorial Day weekend will pass by two side-by-side billboards near the 302 mile marker, close to Wolverine, that will point the way to Presque Isle County. The PI Tourism Council, spearheaded by director Kammie Dennis, enlisted the help of the Rogers City Travelers and Visitors Bureau to help fund the PI County sign.

The graphics of local artist Steve Witucki were used to display much of what is offered by the county in the way of pristine nature, scenery, hunting, and shipping. The second sign is sponsored by the City of Rogers City, the Economic Development Corporation, and the PI Tourism Council.

That sign points to the locations of Onaway and Rogers City and advertises the county?s tax free residential, commercial, and industrial properties for sale, because of Renaissance Zone designations.

A one-year contract has been entered into with all entities sharing the approximate $12,000 cost. Magic Vinyl provided the graphic work and the Wolverine Sign Company holds the contract.

Visitors to the north will have the opportunity to view the billboards about 10 miles before the Indian River M-68 exit that leads to Presque Isle County.
