County board can’t authorize use of surveyor

A review of statutes by the Presque Isle County prosecutor’s office indicates the board of commissioners does not have the authority to expend federal funds, nor investigae complaints concerning District Health Department No. 4.

The prosecutor was recently asked to obtain permission from the owner of lot 578 of Surf Park Subdivision for the county surveyor to enter the property and determine its elevations, in reference to a complaint by the Huron Beach Civic Association.
