District court news

The following cases were heard recently in the 89th District Court by Judge Harold A. Johnson, Jr:

Sigrid J. Thibodeaux-Watson, 21, of Rogers City pleaded guilty to two counts of check writing, non-sufficient funds — less than $100. Thibodeaux-Watson must pay $800 in fines and costs. Restitution of $195.22 has been paid.

Benjamin Eugene Petrusch, 24, of Cheboygan pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated — liquor. Petrusch was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for one day served. He must pay $625 in fines, costs, and fees and he must complete outpatient counseling or serve 30 days in jail.

Andrew James Bisson, 25, of Hudsonville pleaded guilty to operating under the influence of liquor/unlawful blood alcohol content — first offense. Bisson was given 12 months probation and sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for one day served. He must pay $965 in fines, costs, and fees and $100 in restitution. Further, he must complete intensive outpatient treatment or serve 30 days in jail. Bisson must not use or possess drugs or alcohol and he must submit to and pass testing upon request at his own expense.
