Seven to compete for title of Miss Onaway

Seven young ladies will compete for the title of Miss Onaway. This year the theme is patriotic with an opening song of ?Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.?

Vying for the position of Miss Onaway are Jessica Marie Havel, Lauren Jillian Hazlett, Sharina Tatyanna Splan, Sarah Marie Heltsley, Bethany Teen Couture, Amber Marie Anderson, and Stephanie Patrice Porter. The winner will succeed Sarah Lyon as the queen.

Lyon will help crown the new Miss Onaway. The new queen will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and numerous other gifts. The other contestants will be receive a variety of other prizes. The pageant is set June 27, 7:30 p.m. at OHS in the cafeteria amid all the construction. Penny James, executive director said, ?The show must go on.? Tickets are $8 in advance and can be purchased from contestants, Budget Leasing at the junction of M33/M68, or at the door for $10
