Four to compete for Miss Posen

Final preparations are under way for the 37th annual Miss Posen Pageant to be staged Friday, August 8 at Posen High School. This year?s contestants are Michelle Bednarski, daughter of Michael and Donna Bednarski; Shan-non Ciarkowski, daughter of David and Grace Ciarkowski; Kyrie Kuffel, daughter of Larry and Pam Kuffel; and Darlene Sommerfield, daughter of Rick and Tammy Sommerfield.

The pageant precedes the Posen Potato Festival, set for September 5-7. The new queen and her court will reign over the festival and other events throughout the year. The four young ladies vying for the title of Miss Posen 2003 will be evaluated in individual interviews earlier in the day.

During the pageant they will be judged in the areas of coordination, poise and appearance, as well as in evening gown and talent presentations. The new queen will succeed the current Miss Posen, Rebecca Nefske, the daughter of Richard and Deborah Nefske.
