Sheriff?s report

Sheriff?s deputies responded to a single ORV accident Sunday at 3:08 p.m. on 638 Highway that sent a Rogers City teen to the hospital. The investigating officer said Jeremy Lijewski, 18, was westbound on 638, approaching County 441 when he lost control of his three-wheeler, left the road and struck a tree. Lijewski was taken to Alpena General Hospital by Life Link Ambulance, where he was listed in stable condition Monday. The ORV received extensive damage. A sheriff?s department spokesman said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The case remains under investigation.

Officers investigated a dumping complaint Sunday near the Black River bridge off M-33. The complaint was received at 1:09 p.m. from a citizen who reported subjects dumping siding near the bridge. Deputies responded and talked with several people in the area and made contact with the violator, who said they would clean up the mess Monday.

A reported break-in at the Onaway Motor Speedway was called in Friday. The door to the concession stand was kicked in, but owners could find nothing missing. The case remains under investigation.

An individual in Onaway wasn?t calling his dog ?man?s best friend? last Friday. The owner of a Ford Ranger had parked his vehicle on Lynn Street and returned at 1:25 a.m. to find his waiting dog had triggered the power lock button, trapping the owner outside, and the pooch inside. The sheriff?s department requested a wrecker respond to the scene to assist.

A concerned citizen complained of speeding vehicles in Millersburg, near the Ocqueoc River Monday.
