FRIDAY FOOTBALL 9/12 : POSEN WINS THRILLER

The Posen Vikings won a thriller with a dramatic fourth quarter touchdown pass from Matt Ponik to Matt Szczerowski with 4:29 left in the game. The final score was Posen 24- Pickford 20/

Ponik, who was 6-of 7 on the day for 66 yards, hit Szczerowski for a 19-yard score, then Jesse Romel added the 2-point conversion to give the Vikings the final margin over the host Pickford Panthers.

The game featured five lead changes and two great Viking defensive stands to seal the win. Posen came up with a big stop to set up the winning TD drive and followed that with a stand after the TD to ice the game.

Richie Kroll led the ground game with 86 yards on 14 carries while Ron Kroll added 62 yards on 15 tries.

The Vikings move to 3-0 and have not lost a regular season road game since 1999.
