FRIDAY FOOTBALL: Hurons upended in Newberry

An 18-point third quarter nearly pulled the Hurons (3-5) to an upset over playoff-bound Newberry last Friday in Newberry. The Indians (7-1) walked away with a 22-18 win and the Straits Area Conference championship.

Falling behind 22-0 at halftime, the Hurons came out on fire scoring three quick TDs on three Tim Cercone passes to close the gap.

The teams exchanged turnovers but time ran out on a last second Huron drive.
