Vikings survive scare at Hillman; move to 7-1
The Posen Vikings moved to 7-1 with an exciting 21-14 win over Hillman Friday.
The Vikings weredown 14-13 to a Tiger team which rused for 333 yards. They needed 334 to come close to tyiing the game. At the 6:30 mark of the fourth quarter Posen QB Matt Ponik ran for a TD and the 2-pointer.
The Tigers got the ball back and marched all the way to the Vikiing one yard-line. At fourth and goal senior linebacker Ron Kroll filled the gap and Hillman’s last minute drive fell short.
Jesse Romel had nine rushes for 100 yards. Matt Ponik connected on 4-of-7 passes for 80 yards.
Posen plays at Atlanta Friday and will await word of who and where they play in the MHSAA football playoffs. That selection will be announced at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Fox Sports Detroit television.
