Sheriff?s report week 47

Central dispatch received a 911 call Sunday at 6:10 a.m., reporting a personal injury accident involving four vehicles at the intersection of County Road 451 and 634 Highway. A vehicle driven by Dawn Marie Strzelecki, 43, of Hawks was westbound on 634 when she disregarded the stop sign and entered the intersection and was struck broadside by a vehicle driven by Anthony Hincka, 43, of Sparta, according to a sheriff?s department press release.

Two other vehicles were stopped at the intersection waiting for traffic to clear and were struck by the Strzelecki vehicle after impact. Strzelecki and Hincka were transported to Alpena General Hospital by Allied EMS and a passenger in the Hincka vehicle, Douglas Hincka, 41, of Sparta was transported to AGH by Hillman Ambulance. Anthony Hincka was listed in good condition Tuesday morning. Douglas Hincka and Strzelecki were treated and released.

Assisting at the scene were Posen Fire Department and First Responders, Rogers City Fire Department, Hillman Ambulance, Montmorency County Sheriff?s Department, Michigan State Police, and Allied EMS. The accident remains under investigation.

Sally K. Dault, 51, of Novi lost control of her vehicle and hit a guardrail on US-23, November 13 at 10:45 a.m. Dault was eastbound, one-tenth of a mile from Clay Banks Road in Rogers Township, when she lost control of the vehicle on the icy and slushy roadway, causing the vehicle to run off the road. There were blizzard

conditions at the time of the accident, officers stated in their accident report. The driver was not injured and she was wearing her seatbelt.

A vehicle driven by Janice Rae Florip, 52, of Rogers City slid into the ditch during the November 13 blizzard. Florip was southbound on the US-23 Business Route, a half mile north of Quarry View Road at 7:45 a.m., when she lost control on the icy and slushy roadway. Florip?s vehicle spun around and hit a tree on the back passenger side. Florip, who was wearing her seatbelt, was not injured and her vehicle was driveable.

Edward Adrian Zinke, 40, of Rogers City and Marlene Kay Horton, 44, of Onaway were involved in a two vehicle accident during last week?s (November 13) storm at 5:50 a.m. According to the accident report, Zinke was southbound on M-68, one-tenth of a mile south of Loomis Highway, when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centerline, and collided head on with the Horton vehicle. Officers reported icy and slushy road conditions. Both occupants were transported to Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. Horton was admitted and discharged Monday. Zinke was treated and released. Both occupants were wearing their safety belts.
