District court news

Judge Harold A. Johnson, Jr., heard the following cases recently in the 89th District Court:

August Frank Squire, 55, of Onaway pleaded guilty to operating while visibly impaired.

Squire must pay $830 in fines, costs, and fees. Further, he must complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Education program within 90 days or serve 10 days in jail.

Rachel Alta Kile, 44, of Rogers City pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance ? marijuana.

Kile?s driver?s license has been suspended for 60 days and restricted for 305 days.

Kile was given six months probation and must pay $925 in fines, costs, and fees.

Further, Kile must not use or possess drugs or alcohol and must submit to and pass testing upon request at her own expense.

She must complete assessment and follow recommendations or serve 30 days in jail.

The court has held 30 days jail in abeyance at the end of probation.

David Lee Holmes, 18, of Onaway pleaded guilty to being a minor involved in the purchase/consumption/possession of alcohol.

Holmes must pay $195 in fines, costs and fees.
