Morgan Gail DeBoer is New Year?s Baby for 2004

Morgan Gail DeBoer was born at Alpena General Hospital January 6 at 10:22 a.m., qualifying her as the Advance?s 2004 New Year?s Baby. She is the daughter of Rogers City residents Philae and Tim DeBoer, and the sister of 12-year old Benjamin Guenterberg and 1 1/2-year old Lance DeBoer. Morgan?s grandparents are Mary Guenterberg of Rogers City and Marty Sauls and Diane DeBoer of Hillman.

Morgan Gail made her entry into life weighing seven pounds, 15 ounces, and she was 20 inches long. Morgan was not scheduled for birth until January 20, but her mother was not doing very well physically and it was decided to bring her into the world a little early. All went well, and Philae immediately began to recuperate and feel better. Both mother and baby are doing well and are back home in Rogers City.

THE DEBOERS are the recipients of many fine gifts from local merchants including a Rogers City Quick Lube Pennzoil oil change, an A-P Super Service car lube, oil change and filter, a Curtis Professional Eyecare first eye exam before three years of age, a Jean?s Gifts Hallmark baby album, and one gallon of paint from Grulke Hardware. Other gifts include two rolls of film plus processing from J&L Camera, a stuffed animal from Rogers City Home Furnishings, a $50 savings bond from the Huron National Bank, a $10 share account at the Calcite Credit Union, and a $50 savings bond from Independent Bank.

Karsten?s Luncheonette donated a $15 gif

t certificate, and the Gaslight restaurant donated a $20 gift certificate. Kelly?s Venture Inn gave the couple a $10 gift certificate, and the Lighthouse Restaurant gave a $20 gift certificate as well as $20 in free bowling from Nautical Lanes. Other gift certificates include $15 from Treasures Forever, $15 from Rygwelski?s IGA, $20 for baby products from McLean?s Pharmacy, formerly The Medicine Shoppe, and a $20 gift certificate from John?s Plumbing as well as a $20 gift certificate from ACE Hardware. The DeBoer family will receive $285 in gift certificates, and much more in goods and services from area businesses.

Following Morgan Gail?s reign as the New Year?s Baby 2004, she will spend the year growing and developing until next December when she will have her picture taken for publication as the outgoing New Year?s Baby before she abdicates her position in time for the arrival of the 2005 version.
