Hurons defeat Hillman, Newberry; face rematch with Posen Friday

On a record-setting night for senior center Kyle Greene, the Hurons tuned up their game for the district tournament Monday and a rematch with the streaking Posen Vikings Friday. Rogers City beat Hillman 78-50 in a makeup game Tuesday, after defeating Newberry 53-44 last Friday. The Vikings, winners of 16 straight, come into Friday?s game looking for a season sweep of the Hurons.

?It?s going to be electric in the gym. There should be a big crowd from Rogers City and Posen. For us it?s the last home game for the seniors, the last home game they are going to play in Rogers City with those white uniforms,? Grambau said. ?I think it is going to be a huge crowd.?

After that, it?s off to Onaway for the first game of district play against Alcona. The winner of Monday?s game plays Hale, which lost to Alcona 40-39 Tuesday.
