Posen track off and running

The small Posen High School track teams came away after their first meet of the season with impressive results for both boys and girls. The track team traveled to the Fairview Quad Meet and the boys placed second (41) following Fairview (148). Mio took third place (34) and Hillman fourth (25). In the girls? meet, Fairview was first with 140 points, Mio second (54), Posen third (32) and Hillman fourth (10). The Viking boys placed in 10 events with their six-man team. Newcomer Aaron Hincka took fourth place in the shot put (35?11.5?) with the winning throw by Fairview?s Cole Mandrich at (48?8.5?).

In the discus, Hincka threw 115?6? good enough for second place. Mandrich took first in that event also with (119?4.5?) Hincka was just getting warmed up as he also was fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:09.2). James Sobek took fourth place (16?4.75?) in the long jump and was third in the 400-meter dash (50.40). Curtis Beach took second place (5:16.6) in the 1600-meter run and second in the 800-meter (2:18). Apollo Schuch was fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.34) and fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:06.3). Adam Zdybel was third in the 400-meter dash (1:03.4) and Joe Darga took third in the 200-meter dash (28.7). The relay team of Kalin Diffin, Beach, Sobek, and Zdybel were second in the 3200-meter event (9:33.3), less than 30 seconds behind the first place Fairview team.

The relay team of Schuch, Diffin, Sobek, and Darga took first place honors in the 800-meter event with their 1:47.2 time, just edging Hillman out of the slot (1:49.6).

IN THE GIRLS? events, Posen took three first place finishes and three seconds. Amanda Pieczynski took first in the 100-meter dash (13.37), crossing the line nine-hundredths before the Mio runner. Pieczynski also ran first in the 200-meter

dash (27.8), this time outpacing the Fairview runner (28.3). The relay team of Pieczynski, Jill Krajniak, Megan Pieczynski, and Michelle Mulka took first place in the 800-meter event in 2:04.5, ahead of Fairview (2:08.2). Posen?s 3200-meter relay team consisting of Rachel Beach, Krajniak, Mulka, and Amanda Swan took second place (12:51.9).

Amanda Pieczynski, Krajniak, Megan Pieczynski, and Beach took second place in the 400-meter relay (1:00.99). Britany King, Mulka, Beach, and Swan took second in the 1600-meter relay (5:41). Swan ran fifth in the 1600-meter run (7:43) and fifth in the 800-meter run (3:27.6).

Mulka took fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:13.2) and Brittany Chojnacki was fourth in the 300-meter low hurdles (1:21.6). The next meet will be Friday at AuGres beginning at 1 p.m.
