Memorial Day events planned for area
This is the weekend set aside to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and to recognize those who continue to serve. A special memorial service is scheduled Sunday at the Rogers City Baptist Church on M-68 at 11 a.m.
All servicemen, military personnel, active or retired, or veterans, family and friends are welcome to attend. The Rogers City VFW will be marching in the Hawks Spring Fling Parade Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hawks. Monday at 10 a.m. the Servicemen?s Club and the Rogers City VFW Post 607 will be marching from the Westminster Presbyterian Church to the Presque Isle County Court house where a short service will be conducted at the war memorials.
The group then will proceed to the Memorial Park Cemetery for another service before continuing on to the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery on US-23 near County Road 441 for a memorial service.
