Miss Posen to be crowned Aug. 13;

Final preparations are under way for the 38th annual Miss Posen Pageant to be conducted Friday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Posen High School. The pageant precedes the Posen Potato Festival set for September 10, 11, and 12. The queen and her court will reign over the festival and other events throughout the year.

Six talented ladies are vying for the title of Miss Posen 2004. They will be evaluated in individual interviews earlier in the day. During the pageant itself, they will be judged in the areas of coordination, poise and appearance/evening gown, and talent.

The new queen will succeed the current Miss Posen, Kyrie Kuffel, daughter of Larry and Pam Kuffel.

The contestants are Kendra Krajniak, daughter of Gary and Lois Krajniak; Brittany Alayne Romel, daughter of Wayne and Meg Romel; Courtney Romel, daughter of Joe and Cindy Romel; Dorothy Anne Romel, daughter of Leo and Denyse Romel; Marie Elizabeth Romel, daughter of Michael and Barbara Romel; and Amanda Swan, daughter of Steve and Cindy Swan.
