A 16-year-old Rogers City male rolled the vehicle he was driving July 28 at 3:38 p.m., just west of the Rogers City limits in Rogers Township. Dylan Centala was traveling east on M-68 Highway in a 2003 GMC Envoy. He was at the Airport Road bend when, Centala told an officer, he blacked out prior to leaving the roadway on the right. Centala over-corrected to get the vehicle back on M-68, but it spun sideways in the westbound lane before rolling front end first into the ditch and rolling twice, the accident report states.

Both the driver and passenger, Andrew James Centala II, 25, of Rogers City were wearing safety belts. Andrew Centala received minor injuries in the crash, but was not transported from the scene. Alcohol was not a factor, according to the accident report. The investigation is closed.

It appears alcohol was involved in a one-vehicle accident July 28 at 3:15 a.m. in Allis Township. A 23-year-old male was driving on M-33, one-quarter of a mile northw

est of West 634 Highway, when he apparently fell asleep, and his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree. The driver, a Sault Ste. Marie resident, backed the 1999 Ford Super Duty pickup away from the tree, re-entered M-33, but drove directly across both lanes into another tree on the opposite side of the road. He backed away from the second tree, crossed both lanes again, and got stuck on the shoulder of the road. The driver’s blood alcohol level was reportedly two-and-a-half times the legal limit. He was booked at the sheriff’s department in Rogers City a little more than an hour after the accident.

*** *** *** Officers are investigating a garbage dumping complaint at a roadside park along US-23. A county road commission worker reported the incident July 27 to the department at 11:30 a.m. The garbage was to be looked through to try to find the name of the perpetrator.
