1; “THE NERVES SHOWED in the opening Baker games for the girls but they bowled better in the regular games. They just ran into a buzz saw in Sarah Brown,” Bannasch said. Gaylord was led by Brown with a game of 200 and a high score on the day for either boys or girls with 255. The girls team learned real fast that the Gaylord Blue team will be the team to beat in the conference this year. Nicole Grulke and Kristyn Blackmer were double winners for the Hurons accounting for all four points in the first match. Blackmer once again won both of her matches. Heather Kowalski also won both individual matches.

Heather Vogelheim had the best two-game total but could only gain one victory. The coach said, “Grulke was a pleasant surprise, participating in her first bowling competition ever, winning three out of four matches.” He continued, “The girls rebounded nicely after the first match, bowling more consistently. This match will build their confidence for upcoming matches.”
