Onaway High School announced that 36 seniors will be honor graduates.

Onaway High School announced the names of the honor graduates of the Class of 2005. Among them are the following:

Valedictorian of the Class of 2005 is Joseph Bednark, son of Christopher and Patricia Bednark, with a perfect 4.00 grade point average. He has participated in many activities as a student including golf, wrestling, track, band student council, National Honor Society, and Knowledge Bowl.

After graduation he plans to attend either Albion College or Detroit Mercy, and then pursue a career in the dental field.

Salutatorian is Mylise Hext (3.93 G.P.A.), the daughter of Tom and Michele Hext. In her school years she has been active in volleyball, band, yearbook, NHS, Ski Club, and has served as class president.

She plans to attend Northwood University to pursue a dual major in automotive marketing and management.

Honor student is Sara Karsten (3.91 G.P.A.), daughter of Ray and Ann Karsten. She has participated in National Guard Venturing, Civil Air Patrol, CSLC Junior War College, E.T.S, and Michigan Freedom Academy.

Her plans are to attend North Central Michigan College, and apply to the Air Force Academy for the 2006-2007 school year.
