Miss Posen pageant set for Friday

The final practice session is set for tonight (Thursday) as five contestants prepare for Friday?s Miss Posen pageant at 7:30 p.m. at Posen High School. The five contestants will seek the title held by Dorothy Romel, the daughter of Leo and Denyse Romel. Each contestant has been working on her talent presentation for Friday?s event.

Emily Perrault, 17, the daughter of Edward and Denise Perrault, will sing ?Part of Your World,? for her talent presentation. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year university to obtain a degree as a school psychologist.

Rachel Beach, the 17-year-old daughter of Curtis and Toni Beach, will be signing to the song ?I Wear My Sunglasses at Night.? She plans to attend Alpena Community College then transfer to Kettering University to study computer graphic engineering.

Jeanette Rose, 19, is the daughter of Connie and Wallace Srebnik. For her talent presentation, she will perform a clarinet solo, ?Andante and Gavotte.? Her future plans include attending college to obtain a degree in business management; then she hopes to open a restaurant.

Amanda Pieczynski, 17, will perform a dance routine to ?Alley Cat? for her talent presentation. She is the daughter of Adam Pieczynski and Lori Barton. She plans to attend Lake Superior State University, after graduation from Posen High School, to pursue a degree in nursing or engineering.

Meranda Mulka, the 17-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Angela Mulka, will perform a vocal solo to the country hit ?Love Gets Me Every Time.? In the future, she would like to become a pediatrician.

The contestants will be judged in the areas of coordination, poise and appearance, and a talent presentation. The new queen will reign over the Posen Potato Festival and represent Posen at other events throughout the year. The pageant committee includes director Jan Misiak and committee members Laura Idalski, Laurie Buczkows

ki, Meg Romel, and Tammy Hincka.

Ginger Ann Neslund choreographed the opening number, Paulette Woloszk was in charge of the pageant program, and Laura Idalski, Jan Misiak, and Meg Romel handled publicity. Rex and Sherry Manning of Prestige Productions will be on audio while Luke Bruski will operate the spotlight. Donna Jaskolski will be mistress of ceremonies. Meg Romel was in charge of stage and ramp decorations, as well as the lobby display with the contestants? pictures. She will work with the 2004 Miss Posen court in the dressing room. Brenda Gauthier and Angela Krajniak, will provide make-up by Mary Kay.

Dorothy Romel, Kendra Krajniak and Courtney Romel will perform a comedy skit titled ?You Were Lucky? after the opening number. Additional entertainment will be provided by the duo of Annie O?Conner and Kaitlin Stark, and Peg Gill singing a medley of movie songs.
