Vikings move on to regionals

The Posen viking girls basketball team ran to an astonishing 107-79 win over Johannesburg-Lewiston to win the district title in Hillman Friday. That sends the 18-4 Vikings to the regional semifinals Monday in Sault Ste. Marie.

Joburg led 46-44 at halftime before the Vikings caught fire.

Roxann Hincka scored 25 points and grabbed 24 rebounds while Jill Krajniak scored 25 points, with 13 coming in the fourth quarter. Mary Calhoun added 21.

The district title is the third straight for coach Tom Schellie and the fourth in five years for the program.
