Monday meeting to focus on school financial crunch

What to cut from the 2006-2007 budget will be the topic of a public forum Monday, January 30. The Rogers City Area School Board of Education faces the challenge of reducing the operating budget by roughly $450,000 for the coming school year. According to Paul Mancine, interim superintendent of schools, the board desires to ensure that the district continues to offer quality educational options for students and meet the needs of the community.

The public will have a chance to offer its input Monday, at 6:30 p.m. at the Grambau Center. Michigan State University cooperative extension director Dave Glenn will facilitate the meeting designed to bring out ideas and encourage open dialogue between the board and the public.
