Presque Isle County has a new man sitting in the assistant prosecutor?s office. Rick Steiger, who has been working for Dan White in Alpena for the past year, has come to Rogers City to get back into prosecution. ?I love it here so far,? said Steiger. ?I enjoy the small town and close community, and it is a great place to raise my children.? Steiger has a daughter, Madeleine, who is eight, and a son, Richard, who is four. Both are living here in Rogers City with Steiger. Madeleine is a student at Rogers City Elementary School.

?We have been in northern Michigan for about five years now,? said Steiger. ?Everything is falling right into place.? Steiger earned his undergraduate degree at Cal State Chico in California and his law degree from Thomas Cooley Law School. He is originally from Cleveland and has family all over the United States. He has brought his experience from working in the Alpena prosecutor?s office with him to his new position under Prosecutor Don McLennan. Steiger says he is pleased to be working with McLennan and to be one of the newest residents of the area.

According to McLennan, Steiger?s work experience and family values make him a good match for the assistant prosecutor job. ?I am very pleased to have Rick join our team,? said McLennan. ?He is bright, dedicated and hard-working, and we know he is going to be a real asset.?
