Hincka and Szczerowski earn NSL all-conference honors

The 2005-06 Posen basketball team had two players selected to the North Star League all-conference team. Joining a group of six first team players was sophomore guard Jordan Hincka, who lead the Vikings with 15.2 points per game. He was by far the team?s leading scorer with 349 points. No other player had more than 200 points. Hincka led the Vikings in all free three free throw categories. Of his team leading 97 attempts, he made 78 shots, for a shooting percentage of 80 percent. He was second in assists (64) and steals (43).

Earning second team all-conference honors was defensive specialist Matt Szczerowski. The senior led the Vikings with 153 rebounds, for an average of 8.5 a game. He also was tops in blocked shots with 49. Szczerowski was second in scoring with 182 points. Junior guard Brandon Hentkowski led four statistical categories, which include steals (47), steals per game (2.2), assists (102), and assists per game (4.9). He ended his season with 90 points. Scoring more than 100 were sophomore Nick LaTulip (176), senior Richie Kroll (126), and junior Jason Romel (124).

The North Star League?s most valuable player was Mio?s Steven Sidebottom. The rest of thhe first team all-conference squad included Andy Katterman of Hale; Bobby Mallett and Kyle Sanderson of Fairview; and Michael Provost.
