Five to compete for Miss Rogers City title

Five seniors-to-be will vie for the title of Miss Rogers City, 2006 at the Nautical City Queen?s Pageant July 28. Under the direction of Pennie Kelly, who is in her tenth year in charge, the pageant is set to highlight the talent and personality of five girls.

Contestant number one is Simone Kapala, daughter of Kurt and Ruth Kapala and younger sister to Chad and Aaron. A rabbit named Shadow completes her family. Simone?s talent presentation will be a dance to ?Low Rider.? Simone?s future plans include attending Hillsdale College or Grand Valley State University in pursuit of a degree in international journalism and international business.

Tricia Kamyszek is contestant number two. Her family includes parents Beth Kamyszek and Brent Koel, and Jeff Kamyszek, and sisters Megan Szymoniak and Cassie Bruning. Tricia?s talent presentation will be a vocal presentation of ?These Boots Are Made for Walking.? After graduating from RCHS, she plans to attend Grand Valley State University as a pre-med major.

Contestant number three is Ashley Quaine, the daughter of Paul and Tammy Quaine and the older sister of Sara. Ashley will sing ?Think of Me? for her talent presentation. Ashley plans to attend Alpena Community College after graduating from RCHS and pursue a career in graphic arts.

Brittney Hoffman is contestant number four. Her family includes her mother Melissa Schalk and stepfather, Bob Schalk; and sisters Pa

ige and Jordyn. At her dad?s house her family includes her father, Todd Hoffman, stepmother Jenny Hoffman, sister Katie and brothers Kyle and Ethan. Brittney will dance to ?Build Me Up Buttercup? for her talent presentation. Brittney plans to attend Alpena Community College for two years and then transfer to either Central Michigan University or Grand Valley State University to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Contestant number five is Anna Kamyszek, daughter of Lucy and Richard Kamyszek. Her family includes brothers Brent, Jacob, and Scott. A dog named Chauncey and a cat named Gargon complete her family.

For her talent presentation, Anna will sing ?Tomorrow.? Anna?s plans for the future include attending Alma College to pursue studies in the field of medicine. Morgan Suszek and Pennie Kelly will provide other entertainment.
