Posen Pageant Aug. 11; six contestants to vie for crown

With the Posen Potato Festival right around the corner, Amanda Pieczynski, the reigning 2005 Miss Posen, is preparing to welcome a new representative for this year?s festivities. Six contestants are undergoing the final preparations for the Miss Posen Pageant, which is slated for Friday, August 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Posen High School gymnasium. Pageant director Jan Misiak, who has served 10 years on the pageant committee, is directing for her third year. The theme for this year?s pageant is Country Western, and the opening number, coordinated by this year?s Presque Isle Junior Miss, Ginger Ann Nesland of Alpena, is sure to please all in attendance.

The second runner up from the 2005 Miss Posen Pageant, Meranda Mulka, will be entertaining the crowd with a vocal number. Nesland will also perform a dance routine, while Morgan Suszek of Rogers City will also provide entertainment with his vocal talents. Conrad Bruski from WATZ will be the master of ceremonies for his first year. The six young women vying for the title of Miss Posen 2006 are: Michelle Louise Mulka, 17, is the daughter of Mitchell and Angela Mulka. She is a senior at Posen High School. Mulka is active in S.A.D.D., Trip Club, Student Council, Pep Club, Youth Group, and sports. She plans to attend Alpena Community College after high school, and later transfer to Kettering University to obtain a degree in architecture.

Amanda Lynn Novak, 17, is the daughter of Bill and Jeanna Novak. She is a senior at Posen High School. Novak is active in S.A.D.D., Trip Club, Student Council, ETS, and is presently the vice president of the class of 2007. She plans on attending Saginaw Valley State University to pursue a career in either child psychology or elementary education.

Tiffany Nicole Oliver, 17, is the daughter of Mark and Jeannine Oliver. She is a senior at Posen High School. Ol

iver is active in S.A.D.D., Ski Club, track, and Powerhouse Youth Ministries, and its drama team. She plans on becoming a radiology technician.

Eleisha Perrault, 17, is the daughter of Edward and Denise Perrault. She is a senior at Posen High School. She is active in S.A.D.D., Trip Club, and Pep Club. Perrault plans on attending Lake Superior State University and majoring in art.

Melonie Sue Roznowski, 17, is the daughter of Mike and Vicki Roznowski. She is a senior at Posen High School. She is active in Trip Club, and is a member of Student Council. Roznowski plans to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Kristin Stricker, 17, is the daughter of Roger and Margaret Stricker. She is a senior at Posen High School. Stricker is active in Trip Club, S.A.D.D., ETS, and she is a member of Student Council. Stricker is planning to pursue a career in architecture. The annual Posen Potato Festival is scheduled for September 8-10, and the new Queen and her court will reign over the celebration, as well as represent Posen at other events throughout the year.
