Prosecutor?s successor to be named

Presque Isle County Circuit Judge Scott L. Pavlich has scheduled a 2 p.m. Thursday (August 31) press conference to announce the appointment of a new county prosecutor. Don McLennan, who has served Presque Isle County as its county prosecutor for a quarter-of-a-century, announced in July he would be stepping down from the post to focus on his election campaign. McLennan is running against incumbent Ken Radzibon for Probate Judge. McLennan?s last day will be October 15.

?The judge wanted to give enough time for transition,? said McLennan. Pavlich is expected to go over the process he employed in making his decision. McLennan?s four-year term as prosecutor will end in 2008. His successor will complete the final two years of the term.
