Rogers City Little League report

Major Girls Stan Wozniak used a four-run fifth Monday to pull away from Rogers City Do It Center, 6-2. Anna Couture earned the win on the mound. She had seven strikeouts and six walks. Wozniak had a 2-1 lead, with single runs in the second and fourth innings, before pushing four runs across. Abbie Delekta and Couture both had hits in the game. Rebecca Meredith had three singles for Do It.

Abbie Delekta was four-for-four in a 16-1 win June 20 against Do It Center. Wozniak Insurance scored five in the first and never let up with two in the second, and four in each of the third and fourth innings. Ashley Meyers was the winning pitcher (5K, 4 BB). Delekta finished with a single, two triples, and a grand slam, for a whopping 11 total bases. Austin Sharpe added a pair of singles.

Junior Boys

Port of Call scored in every inning of a June 20 win against FOP. They started with an eight spot in the first, but immediately gave up five. Port of Call would proceed to outscore FOP the rest of the way 9-5 to capture a 17-10 victory. It was their fifth win of the season on eight losses. Alex Jozwiak and Dylan Kortman combined on a four hitter in five innings of work. Jozwiak picked up the win, while Kortman earned a save. Picking up two hits each were Greg Tulgestke, Sidney Marx (4 runs), Keegan Urban, and Kortman. Devin Hilla added two hits.

On June 19, Alpena (13-1) claimed a 14-4 win against Port of Call. The game was still fairly close at 4-2, before Alpena opened up the game with a six-run fourth. Greg Tulgestke had two hits and two runs. Kortman knocked in two and pitched a gritty game against a very good Alpena team.

Major Boys

Huron National Bank worked Onaway Dairy Queen last Friday, 13-0. Zach Munn pitched a four inning shut out with strikeouts. He also went three-for-three. Justin Paul and Evan Lamb were two-for-two, while Clayton Nadolsky and Nick Hincka both ripped doubles. On June 20, HNB rolled past Hillman IGA, 15-zip. Daniel Lemon tossed a four inning no-no and struck out nine. Evan Lamb and Zach Munn were both three-for-three. Colton Fessler added a triple. HNB edged Onaway DQ, 5-4 on June 19. Zach Munn and Colton Fessler both had doubles. Justin Paul was the winning pitcher and was relieved by Paul Wilbert.

Minor

Boys

Big D?s improved its run total in each successive inning in an 18-3 win on June 22 against Presque Isle Electric. Big D?s started with three runs in the first and added four in the next inning, five in the third, and then six in the fourth. Quentin Kelly, who got the win on the mound, had four hits. Travis Sharpe and Nathan Mulka had two each. Noah Sobeck and Cameron Urban both added one each. Curtis Eye Care took a 7-2 win against PIE & G, June 20. Casey Szatkowski picked up the win for Curtis. Allan Keffer and Skyler Tulgestke both added two hits each. Jacob Hein knocked out a double.

Minor Girls

FOP edged Independent Bank June 18 with a four-run fifth. The inning wiped out an 11-8 Independent lead. Rieana Altman got the save with two innings of work (4 K, 1 H, 0 R). Jessie Butera went two-for-two in the contest.
