A familiar name is the holder of the Miss Posen crown this year. Elyse Perrault, 16, the youngest of five children of Edward and Denise Perrault, is the new Miss Posen. Elyse?s sister Eleisha was first runner-up last year, sister Emily was runner-up in 20005, while her oldest sister Elizabeth was Miss Posen in 2000.

?I was about to collapse. I was in shock. I was just in it for fun and then when they announced my name, I was so excited. It has been an amazing experience,? Perrault said after the pageant. Although she was co-winner of the talent presentation, a great song and dance routine to ?I Can?t Do it Alone? from the musical ?Chicago,? she said ?it was pretty backwards.? ?I kept going and tried to stay strong with it. I made it through and kept going. That?s just what you have to do,? she said. She had praise for the other three contestants.

?I couldn?t have done this without their support,? she said. ?I had an incident this weekend where I hurt my back and my leg where (I thought) I wouldn?t have been able to do this. Without their support I probably would not have.?

ELYSE WAS voted Miss Congeniality by the other contestants. She shared the talent award with first runner-up Bethany King. Bethany King, the daughter of Richard and Theresa King and Rick Ulch, did a comedy dance routine titled ?The Evolution of Dance,? where she danced in the style of many different types of music played over the radio waves in the past 50 years. She also won the coordination award and the poise and appearance honor.

Michelle Eagling, the daughter of Michael and Jackie Eagling, performed a vocal solo of ?Me and Charlie Talking.? Ashley Sobek performed a dance routine to ?Footloose.? She is the daughter of Joe and Sallae Sobek. The crowning of the new Miss Posen ended the reign of Miss Posen 2006 Tiffany Oliver who reprised her talent presentatio

n from one year ago.

JAN MISIAK HEADED the pageant committee, which also included Laura Idalski, Tammy Hincka, Judy Romel, and Meg Romel. ?Looking back, how the pageant went overall, we as a committee couldn?t be more thrilled with how it turned out,? Misiak said. ?We started off with a lot of bumps in the road, first of all not knowing if we were going to have a pageant, and then having the four girls come on board. I couldn?t be more proud of them. They are going to do a great job representing the community.

?Considering some of the talents were still bumpy on Wednesday, it is just phenomenal how they did.?

Presque Isle County Fair Queen Julia Lewandowski, and Toni Wilson provided additional entertainment at the event. Conrad Bruski was master of ceremonies, GingerAnn Neslund choreographed the opening number, and Rex and Sherry Manning of Prestige Productions handled the audio.
