Sports to resume after holiday break

The Rogers City boys? basketball team is at Cheboygan today and home against Inland Lakes Tuesday. The Hurons? (4-1) last action was a big win over Sault Ste. Marie where they were trailing by 10 with one-quarter left to play. Seniors Scott Kowalewsky and Bret Karsten each scored 10 in the final quarter, leading the team to a 61-56 victory. The Posen boys? team will be at Hale tonight, at home Saturday against Cedarville, and home on Monday against Atlanta. The Vikings? (3-2) last action was against defending state champion Cedarville. With the news of a broken bone in the foot of big man Nick LaTulip, who expects to be out a few more weeks, the team will work to keep league title hopes alive.

The Rogers City girls play at Cheboygan Friday and Newberry next Thursday. The girls won?t be home again until January 18 against Rudyard. The lady Hurons? last action was at home against the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils. The home team was unable to overcome a tight press in a 57-29 loss. The Posen girls are home Friday against Hale and away at Atlanta on Tuesday. The lady Vikings? last action was at home against Cedarville. The Vikings (3-4) will face Hale, Atlanta, Rogers City and Hillman in the next two weeks.

The Rogers City wrestling team, who saw action during the break will be at Rudyard tonight for a tri-meet with the Bulldogs and the Chiefs of Cheboygan. The team will have a rare weekend off before hosting the annual Bill Barrett Memorial Invitational on January 12.
