Fleming goes for 34 points in OT win

Huron girls topple Inland Lakes in OT; Friday?s game cancelled Behind the outstanding 34-point, 21-rebound effort of senior center Jenny Fleming, the Huron varsity girls took a 62-55 overtime win over Inland Lakes Wednesday.

Rogers City led 30-18 at halftime but Inland Lakes rallied to take the lead in the fourth quarter, before ending regulation tied.

Fleming could not be stopped inside in the extra time, leading the charge with her career-best scoring effort. Her teammates repeatedly looked for inside, as she received nice passes from Kaitlin Klingshirn, Moni Cercone, and Katie Tulgestke in the final quarter.

The Hurons game with Rudyard scheduled for Friday was cancelled, due to the funeral for the Wang family. No rescheduled date was announced.

Rogers City plays Harbor Springs Monday at 8 p.m. in the first round of district tournament play.
