Lady Hurons ousted from tournament by Whittemore-Prescott

A scoreless third quarter doomed the Hurons’ chances of defeating Whittemore-Prescott Wednesday night at Harbor Springs. The Cardinals topped Rogers City 49-21 to move on to the district finals against Boyne City Friday.

Rogers City scored the first two baskets of the game, as senior center Jenny Fleming found the mark, but it was all W-P after that.

Fleming scored 13 points, Logan Schuiteman scored four, Moni Cercone had two and Katie Tulgetske scored two.

The Hurons end their season with a 6-15 record, after winning a district game Monday over Harbor Springs.

At the Johannesburg district, Onaway moved on to Friday’s championship game with a 55-41 win over Posen. Megan Murphy socred 27 points in three quarters of play to pace the scoring.
