Rachel Lewandowski named PI County Fair queen

Rachel Lewandowski, the daughter of Fred and Lori Lewandowski, earned the title of Presque Isle County Fair Queen 2008 at Friday?s pageant at the Millersburg School. Lewandowski earned the talent, coordination and evening gown awards. For her talent presentation, Rachel performed a piano/skit routine to ?Fandango.? She changed from janitor to dancer to pianist in her performance that won over the judges. Rachel will be a sophomore at Rogers City High School this fall.

Tayler Bannasch the daughter of Barb and

Brian Bannasch, earned first runner up for her efforts. Her talent presentation was a modern dance titled ?No Air.? Other contestants were Hannah Gunn, Liz Atkins and Brogan Brege who all are students at Rogers City High School. Pageant director Tricia Selke moved the pageant from a tent on the fairgrounds, to the school this year. This allowed better seating for the audience and a better stage for the contestants. Selke also served as emcee of the event, doing a fine job of keeping the program moving and organized. Lindsay McConnell choreographed the opening number ?All That Jazz,? performed by the contestants.

Before the crowning, Julia Lewandowski, Presque Isle County Fair Queen 2007, and the contestants performed an entertaining dance routine as part of the former queen?s farewell. The new queen and her court reigned over the county fair last weekend in Millersburg.
