Miss Posen pageant set for Friday

The days are counting down to the annual Miss Posen Pageant, set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Posen High School. Contestants and pageant staff are putting the finishing touches on the event, which precedes the Posen Potato Festival, planned for September 5, 6 and 7. The new queen and her court will reign over the festival as well as represent Posen at other events throughout the upcoming year.

This year?s queen will succeed the reigning Miss Posen Elyse Perrault, the daughter of Edward and Denise Perrault. Elyse plans to attend Alpena Community College to major in nursing and minor in theatre. She will then advance to Ferris State University to obtain her bachelor’s degree. This year?s pageant features 10 contestants vying for the title of Miss Posen 2008. They will be evaluated in individual interviews to be held the day of the pageant. During the pageant itself, they will be judged in the areas of coordination, poise and appearance (evening gown) and talent.

stants in alphabetical order are: Samantha Altman, the daughter of Lynn and David Altman; Christina Bednarski, the daughter of Michael and Donna Bednarski; Tina Mulka, daughter of Mitch and Angie Mulka; Nicole Purol the daughter of James and Marie Purol; Autumn Reese, the daughter of Stanley and Lori Reese and Stacey Reese; Robin Roznowski, the daughter of Bernie and Bonnie Roznowski; Bonnie Schmitz, the daughter of Jeff and Kate Bruski; Emily Smolinski, the daughter of Richard and Connie Smolinski; Jenice Stricker, the daughter of Roger and Margaret Stricker and Victoria Wozniak the daughter of Ken and Ginny Wozniak.

GingerAnn Neslund choreographed the opening number. Entertainment will be provided by the reigning Miss Posen, Elyse Perrault and GingerAnn Neslund. Conrad Bruski from WATZ is master of ceremonies.
