?Hello, Dolly!? opened at the Rogers City Theater over the weekend kicking off the 2009 Rogers City Community Theatre season. The cast of 23 under the direction of Pennie Kelly who is assisted by Andrea Shadbolt delighted crowds of nearly 120 people at every show this weekend and will do the same this weekend beginning with a 7:30 p.m. show Friday evening. The show can also be seen live on stage Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

?The show was fabulous this weekend. The actors did a very good job. The cast and the show have helped me have a very rewarding experience in directing my first community theatre show,? said Kelly.

The musical comedy features 13 musical numbers along with waiters gallop dances and a dance contest choreographed by Kelly, Shadbolt, Heather Nordenbrock and Laura Winkel. Donna Klein served as the music director and the show features elaborate sets designed by Karl W. Heidemann.

Tickets for the show are available from cast members, at the Advance office and at the Rogers City Theater box office as well as at the door. Doors open a half an hour before the start of each show and the show runs a little more than two hours. It is a delight for young and old alike.

?It is a fun and entertaining show, I encourage people to come watch,? said Kelly. Next on the 2009 Rogers City Community Theatre schedule will be a dinner theater ?Caf? Noir? that will be held at TayBeck?s restaurant on May 16. Donna Klein will direct the show. Following the dinner theater will be the children?s production, ?Aladdin? that will run August 27-30 at the Rogers City Theater.
