Streich and McLean get the nod, J.V. football coach ?pending?

The hirings of varsity basketball coaches Jesse Streich and Emily McLean were formally approved Monday night by members of the Rogers City Area Schools Board of Education, along with the fall coaches, but there are still a few positions that need to be filled. Streich will coach the boys basketball program this winter, while McLean takes over the girls. Both are former alumni of Rogers City High School. Some board members noticed the positions of eighth-grade volleyball coach and junior varsity football coach, were not on their long list of fall coaches and volunteers up for approval.

The J.V. football numbers are solid and the season is expected to go on as scheduled. Cheerleading, which was canceled last fall and winter, is back with 15 signed up, the superintendent said.
