The sixth annual People?s Garden Fair took over Maxon Field in downtown Onaway during Saturday of the Labor Day weekend.

There were unique items to purchase, as well as produce and plants from several area farms, among the 20 tents and displays.

The attendance could have been better, according to Mary Faircloth, Garden Fair chairperson for the Stepping Stones Garden Club (SSGC). ?We had two or three fewer vendors, but I also believe there were fewer people around. There were many other activities going on. We are going to hang in there and try again next year.?

Millersburg

was hosting its annual homecoming celebration, while other folks were being entertained at Fieldstock in North Allis Township.

The Joy Community Church praise team and soloist Donna Klein provided the entertainment on Maxon Field.

A staple of the Garden Fair is the sunflower contest
