Viking football, eight-man game debut at home

Adding to this weekend?s festivities in Posen will be Friday night?s high school football game against visiting Brimley. It will be the first eight-man game on the newly reconfigured field. The biggest difference fans will notice is the field is 13 yards narrower at 40 yards across. The length remains the same at 100 yards from goalline to goaline. The eight-man game has been established to keep football alive at high schools with low enrollment numbers. With only 79 students, Posen High School (PHS) certainly falls into that category. Brimley picked up a forfeit victory last week after losing in week one, 49-0 to Bark-River Harris. Posen lost to Cedarville in week one, 54-6. No surprise, Cedarville throttled Engadine in week two action, 47-13.
