Community pulls together to keep tradition alive

Millersburg Elementary School has been the site of a Christmas program for sixty years. With the closing of the school the community of Millersburg pulled together this year to keep the tradition alive.

Carol Steiger welcomed the audience to the community Christmas gathering and invited the audience to give her suggestions what they should sing, as the audience sang two carols to kick off the program.

Donna Leach and Rebecca Bacon then sang ?Shake me I Rattle? before the audience again sang one carol. The Virgil Freel family then took the stage and performed a Christmas melody.

Also participating in the program were the children of Millersburg and Joni Storms who sang ?The Lord?s Prayer? following the reading of the Christmas story and prior to the benediction.

The children then took over the stage to sing ?Here Comes Santa Claus? before Santa indeed entered the building and took a seat to meet with the children and hand out a goody bag to each of them.

Punch and cookies were available after the caroling was done, offering a great opportunity for people to visit with fellow community members.
