Nash William Donajkowski brought plenty of excitement to the home of Nicholas and Megan Donajkowski of Posen and their two daughters Shelby, 4, and Mallory, 3. Not only do his parents have their third child and the girls a little brother, but he?s the Advance?s 2010 New Year?s Baby.

The bundle of joy was born Jan. 13 at 5:58 p.m. at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured an even 19 inches. Mother and son were resting comfortably at home Sunday afternoon. Nash was enjoying a deep nap in a cozy living room chair, following a meal. ?He said he loved me,? said Mallory of her little brother. ?Say, he talked to me,? said Megan supporting her. ?Yeah!? confirmed the excited, chatty sibling.

MALLORY?S SISTER, Shelby, is a little more skeptical about the prospects of having a new brother. ?Shelby is hoping he doesn?t cry,? said grandma Irene Donajkowski. ?That was her biggest fear. First

, she didn?t want a boy, because boys are mean. Secondly, she just wanted another sister.? Irene said she hasn?t heard Nash cry yet. While the baby was due Jan. 22, doctors induced labor Jan. 13 around 4 p.m. ?The doctor didn?t want us rushing up, if she had gone into labor, in a snowstorm,? said proud papa Nicholas. The couple lives along Clinton Lake Highway in Krakow Township. As part of the contest, Nash and his parents are the recipients of several fine gifts from area merchants, which include certificates for services, products, a savings bond, entertainment, and a one year subscription to the Advance.

The happy grandparents are Leonard and Irene Donajkowski of Posen and William and Janet L. Kuznicki of Rogers City. Nash?s great-grandparents are William and Ellen Kuznicki of Rogers City and Valentine and Julia Donajkowski.
