National recognition for Onaway youth

Casey Watson, son of Leroy and Charlene Watson, achieved an award from the National Rifle Association (NRA) during Boy Scout summer camp at Camp Hiawatha in Munising. During a scored event, called a postal shoot, Casey earned a scored that ranked him third in the country for his age group. ?One target has 10 different little targets on it,? said scoutmaster Fred Stevens. ?When you are all done the instructor keeps it and sends it into the NRA.? The NRA scores all the targets from camps across the nation. ?I don?t think there has ever been a northern Michigan boy to ever do that, that I know of, so it is a big deal,? said Stevens. He received the award March 1.
