Track team does well in Fairview

The Rogers City track team had two meets this week as they traveled to a relay meet in Cheboygan Friday where they did not fair real well with low numbers but did have some good individual performances and then traveled to Fairview Tuesday. Tuesday, in Fairview for the Fairview Invitational there where 13 schools at the meet. The weather was warm and sunny with a brisk crosswind.

Overall both team performed well with the boys placing 11th and the girls placing 6th . The boys? team continues to improve but with the low number it?s hard to score points. The girls? team has improved and work hard to score team points. Placing for the girls where Leilani Kortman first in the 100-meter Hurdles 17.39, 400 Heather Luetzow first 1:02.98, 300 hurdles Leilani Kortman second 54.47, 800 Shelby Pratt fourth 2:46.14, 1,600 relay third 4:44.89 (Kortman, Pratt, Bailey Andrzejewski and Luetzow) The track team will be at Inland Lakes Thursday and St. Ignace Friday as they look to continue improving with regionals set for May 22.
