Students in the Onaway High School Drama Club have been working for six weeks preparing to present Loonies and Snatchers this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

?Things are going great. The laughter from the elementary tells me that if they get it the adults will get it. The students have been working hard learning lines, doing the set and getting costumes ready,? said director Michele Peters.

Wednesday afternoon as a dress rehearsal the cast presented the play for some of the elementary students.

The story centers around an undercover policeman (Mike Millitello) who is sitting on a park bench impersonating an old woman. The undercover officer is hoping to catch a purse-snatcher in the act.

Much to his surprise there is more than one thief, or so he thinks. Passersby, including a business woman (Myranda Anglin) and a male mode

l (Jordan Alcaraz), as well as others become victims of wacky experiences leading to more than one suspect being handcuffed to the park bench.

With all the oddities happening in the park, three mental patients have gone missing from the hospital located near the park and the old lady the undercover cop was impersonating (Melissa Pomranke) also makes and appearance.

When another police officer (Tiffany Kortman) makes an appearance she is busy trying to sort what is happening just as the mental patients are starting to make their appearances and things seem to be getting more and more complicated.

?This is a funny show. It is about 40 minutes long. For the price it can?t be beat for a quick evening of entertainment and back home before dark,? said Peters. Other cast members are Victoria Penny, Brittani Crisp, Chelsea Wregglesworth, Megan Estep, Kallie Shimmel, Emilee Madison, Adam Richards and Hannah Materna. Members of the production crew are Deanna DeMaestri, Sarah Crawford, Leanne Fenstermaker, Mary Bandish, Marina Jared and Jadzia Jared.
