by Peter Jakey, Managing Editor

Presque Isle Young Champions cheerleaders went to regional competition in Gaylord last Saturday and every level came home with blue ribbons. Levels 1, 2, and 4 received first place, while Level 5 and 6 teams both came home with blue state qualifying ribbons, which means they received enough points to advance to state finals June 11 and 12 in Grand Rapids.

At regional competition the level 6?s must earn 60 percent of the total score available, in order to go on to state. They were the only level 6 at the northern competition to earn enough points to go on to state competition.

Last July they attended the national competition in Mississippi, were they placed 3rd in the small division.

Wednesday was parents/awards night at Posen High School. There were entertaining performances and attendance awards handed out at the event.
