Marx said Tuesday he had a discussion with fellow board members last week and the decision was made to move forward with Makowski public interview and schedule the special meeting, with the next regular meeting not until June 13. The other agenda item, after Makowski?s interview, is ?determine next steps in superintendent search process,? the agenda states, to either make an offer to Makowski or expand the search. Makowski has all the qualifications which were posted, including a degree in educational administration. ?Obviously, she has that because she?s a principal in our schools,? said Marx.

Makowski was hired in July 2009. Current superintendent Jamie Huber, who?s preparing to bid farewell to the Class of 2011 on Sunday at graduation, will be with the district until the end of the month.
