City to honor those who bravely serve on Veterans Day

The Rogers City Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 607 will conduct a Veterans Day ceremony Sunday at 3 p.m. in front of the Presque Isle County Courthouse memorials.

The ceremony will include a prayer from the chaplain, the reading of “In Flanders Fields” by commander Richard Wright, a rifle salute and playing of taps.

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday honoring armed service veterans. It is not to be confused with Memorial Day, because Veterans Day is a day of remembering the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving.

All veterans are welcome to attend and are invited to a potluck that will be served downstairs at the VFW Post 607 following the ceremony.
