The Onaway Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the annual tree lighting Saturday night in Chandler Park.
“This is one of the biggest events of the year so we wanted to remind everyone that it will be earlier this year,” said chamber president Connie Gibson.
There will be cookies and hot chocolate and a bonfire to keep warm. Santa will arrive for the kids at approximately 6:30 p.m. to light the trees.
“It will be the kick-off to our Christmas season and we look forward to seeing everyone there. We still have some trees for sale for anyone who wants to dedicate a tree in memory of a loved one, a dedication to our troops, past and present, or just to say thank you to a valued customer.
The chamber, with a great helping hand from Presque Isle Academy students, put lights on the trees Tuesday morning.
“Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving to our wonderful community,” said Gibson.
